Tips for taking your proposals to the next level— and land more contracts.

Your Amgigs proposal is your opportunity to make a first impression good on a potential new client and showcase your expertise and proficiency. What can you do to help make sure you get noticed?

Proposal tips from Amgig'ians Debra Brassfield, easy-to-mistakes he’s found after submitting numerous proposals as he’s expanded his business.

Debra found that, whatever the size of the project you want to win. “Once you understand how clients think, you can apply that today wherever you are in your business—if you’re brand new, that’s fine, and as you get more experience, you can continue to apply these tips and tactics.”

The secret, he says, is the old adage: Work smarter, not harder. If you focus intently on the quality of the proposals you send—rather than the number of proposals you send out—your success rate will likely be much higher. Here’s tips from Margulies on how to get your proposals to the next level—and land more contracts.

All international bidding sites provide 24 x 7 bidding service. So, people can bid at any time but not all people worldwide are interested in your product category, there will be only some specific countries. Know them, find out their less active hours/days for bidding, find the product having its bid ending at that time.

Scripted bid proposals sound too mechanical. The most INEXPERIENCED freelancers write hackneyed bid proposals. When your bid looks and sounds the same as all the other bids, you sound like you’re only interested in winning the project itself and not meeting your buyer’s standards and expectations.

Be prepared to back up any application you make with evidence about your skills. Keeping a document prepared with samples is a good idea, but sometimes you will need to write a new sample depending on what the employer is looking for.
